Kate Nastasi

Kate is the founder and CEO of Events by Kate, known for turning big visions into seamless, beautifully executed celebrations. With a calm presence, sharp attention to detail, and a design-forward eye, she leads every event with equal parts professionalism and warmth so clients feel taken care of from the first call to the final send-off. She’s a master of timelines, logistics, and the behind-the-scenes problem solving that makes a wedding feel effortless. Couples love her for her honest guidance, quick wit, and ability to keep the day running smoothly while still feeling fun and personal. When she’s not planning weddings, she’s usually dreaming up her next creative idea, painting with watercolors, or spending time at home with her husband Dean and their Shiba Inu, Luna.

Kayla Misiano

Kayla joined Events by Kate in early 2023 and quickly proved she was meant to be here-starting as an intern and working her way up to Lead Planner through pure dedication, talent, and that rare “get it done” energy you want on wedding day. She has a calm, steady presence and a sharp eye for details, and she’s especially great at keeping things moving seamlessly behind the scenes so you can stay fully in the moment. Kayla graduated from Johnson & Wales University with a degree in Sports, Entertainment, & Event Management and a minor in Hospitality (same as Kate!) so creating smooth, guest-friendly experiences is truly in her DNA. When she’s not planning weddings, you’ll find her at pilates, at the beach, or hunting down the best sushi around…usually with a quick check-in on her cats (who absolutely run her household). If you’re looking for someone who’s equal parts polished, reliable, and genuinely fun to be around, Kayla is that person!

Cara Melchiorri

Meet Cara! She joined the Events by Kate in late 2023 after graduating from Iona College in 2021, and she’s the kind of Lead Planner you instantly feel calmer standing next to. She’s organized, detail-obsessed (in the best way), and somehow always two steps ahead, whether she’s smoothing out a timeline, tracking down a missing boutonniere, or being an expert DJ whisperer to make sure the vibes stay exactly right.

When she’s not in wedding mode, Cara is all about a good thriller movie or show, a little retail therapy, and staying active with running and the gym. Her favorite off-duty role is being a dog mom to Millie, her ride-or-die sidekick and the true VIP of her camera roll. If you need someone who can keep things flawlessly on track while still keeping it fun, Cara’s your girl!
